An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad with 8 years of experience in the education sector, Vidya did her Bachelors in Engineering in Computer Science & Engineering from NIT Allahabad. On completing her PGDM at IIMA, she worked in the field of Consulting at Price Waterhouse Coopers Consulting at Chennai prior to starting TATVA.
Along the path, we discovered Waldorf curriculum which is based on the indications given by Rudolf Steiner , an Austrian philosopher and educationist among other things, and we realized that our search for a beautiful, meaningful and deep curriculum was over. Balancing academic learning with an artistic approach pinned to the developmental needs of the growing child, the Waldorf curriculum is a gift to humanity and our journey ahead is to deepen this impulse and contextualize it to serve children growing up in the Indian social milieu. Today, we have two campuses in Polachery village - a Kindergarten-Primary School Campus and a Middle-High School campus - spread out over a total land area of around 3 acres.

Bala is an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad with nearly 25 years of experience in the area of education having spent 12 years in the business of test-prep at the graduation/post graduation level. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad with 15 years of experience in the education sector, Vidya did her Bachelors in Engineering in from NIT Allahabad. Along with the experience, our Directors bring on board a strong passion for education and its transformative power.
As Bala often likes to say, “If the world is to ever transform into a paradise of peace and prosperity rooted in freedom, where every individual can strive freely to fulfill their destiny and live life to the fullest, we need to educate our children very differently. All that has passed for education in the last few centuries must be rejected in toto and a new paradigm of education needs to find its way into this world. And this new paradigm needs to put the learner – the child – in the centre of the framework with the teacher and the subjects of learning coming together to serve the child’s developmental journey “
Bala is an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad with over 14 years of experience in the area of education. He has trained over 30,000 students for national level competitive exams such as the CAT, IIT JEE and AIEEE, and internationally recognized exams such as the GRE and the TOEFL. Along with the experience, our Directors bring on board a strong passion for education. They have dedicated themselves to building an institution that stands apart from the crowd for its unflinching commitment to excellence in education and the blossoming of children into happy, purposeful, productive adults striving for a peaceful, free and prosperous society.
In Vidya’s words, “It is imperative that we educate the whole child - hands, heart and head – to ensure that the child grows up into a balanced adult. The backbone of our school is our teaching team deeply committed to the cause of meaningful education. It is a team that is constantly striving to deepen their understanding of the inner nature of the child and their chosen subject(s), and how the subject(s) may be best harnessed to serve the development of the child’s willing, feeling and thinking faculties. Our team comes from varied backgrounds – some first-time teachers, some experienced practitioners, some with industry background, some with artistic background – but what unifies them all is a passion for learning and a love to serve children.
In the Kindergarten team, the teacher is the source of warmth, security and goodness in the environment taking responsibility for all the experiences that are built into the curriculum. Liasing closely with the parents, the kindergarten teacher strives to create a harmony between the school and home environments so that the child experiences wholesome nourishment from every side at all times. In the Grade team, the teacher becomes the beloved authority bringing to life all the contemporary and classical subjects in an artistic manner. Constantly on a learning path, every teacher becomes a living example of someone who is a representative of all that is good and beautiful in this world and is worthy of imitation. In the final years of the child’s stay in our school, the High School teacher becomes the epitome of striving for truth. While each of them is an expert in their chosen area, the team as a whole works tirelessly in synchrony building a community of adults working towards a common goal – preparing children subconsciously for their own journey into adulthood.

TATVA is affiliated to the Cambridge International Examinations and we prepare our children in Grade 10 to write the internationally recognized and accepted IGCSE examinations in the offered subjects of English Language and Literature, English as Second Language, French as a Foreign Language, Tamil (in O levels), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The children are then prepared to face the AS/A level examinations in the offered subjects of English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Cambridge qualifications are widely recognised as qualifications that prepare and equip students with the skills they need to succeed both at university and beyond. The qualifications inherently stand for independent research and critical thinking skills as well as deep subject knowledge and lends themselves very well to the Waldorf-inspired multi-disciplinary approach we have in TATVA.
