OUR SCHOOL

TATVA started in 2009 building on our founders’ decade-long experience of working with school children, especially high school children. Having seen first hand the impact of good teachers and good teaching methodology in the learning experience of children, Bala and Vidya started TATVA in a quest to set up a meaningful space for children to learn joyfully and in a manner that their inborn inquisitiveness is preserved for a life-long journey of learning. Starting with a small cohort of children on our first day, we have evolved into a Waldorf-inspired Cambridge International School.

Along the path, we discovered Waldorf curriculum, which is based on the indications given by Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian philosopher and educationist among other things, and we realized that our search for a beautiful, meaningful and deep curriculum was over. Balancing academic learning with an artistic approach pinned to the developmental needs of the growing child, the Waldorf curriculum is a gift to humanity and our journey ahead is to deepen this impulse and contextualize it to serve children growing up in the Indian social milieu.

Today, we have two campuses in Polachery village - a Kindergarten - Primary School Campus and a Middle-High School campus - spread out over a total land area of around 3 acres. The campuses, apart from being centers of meaningful education for children, have also become spaces in which the community of parents and educators come together to celebrate joyfully the journey of life. Striving tirelessly, the TATVA team has positively impacted over 3000 families in the past decade and half through the magical power of health-building education.

“Good education creates space where children can truly experience their childhood. A true experience of childhood fosters creativity and independence in adult life."
- Rudolf Steiner .
