“What do you value in life then?" "I'm afraid you'll laugh at me. Beauty, truth and goodness."
- William Somerset Maugham

“ Truth is the first thing to be sought for; and Beauty and Goodness will then be added unto you."
- Mahatma Gandhi

“The ideals which have always shone before me and filled me with the joy of living are goodness, beauty, and truth… The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives"
- Albert Einstein

We, at TATVA, see ourselves as a learning space spurred on by these ideals of goodness, beauty and truth and strive to weave it into our work with children in a way that it enables children to bloom into purposeful, happy adults who serve the world they live in. It is important for educators to work sensitively in a way that a genuine inner enthusiasm for the world is developed in the hearts of each growing child and this, in turn, results in also developing truly creative individuals who know how to carve a space for themselves in this world. This is the task we have taken onto ourselves.

The school invited its entire parent community to deepen their understanding of what is happening in the children’s classrooms by laying out a breath-taking display of what has happened in our classrooms over the past 12-15 months! The school felt electric that day and it was a day of reunion with some of our alumni and old colleagues dropping in to catch up with their friends. Everyone left the school with a full heart and a big smile on their faces.

Our current group of Grade 11ers released the second edition of the annual newspaper as part of their work on Journalism. And the first 100 copies got sold in less than 24 hours! Right from conceptualizing the design, the content and the budget for the newspaper all work was done by students with timely guidance from their Literature and Language teacher, Praveena, overseeing their work.

Every class teacher ended the term with an intense 20-30 minute catch up meetings with their class parents. Lots of updates from both parties made for a meaningful meeting.

Different class groups are celebrating the festival of light in their own way and the classrooms resound with songs on Deepavali and light!

Another beloved mentor of ours visits us in early November! Katherine Lehman from Sacramento is visiting Nepal and India and plans to stop by in Chennai. With over four decades of experience in the area of Waldorf teaching, every visit of hers brings in a lot of practical ideas and depth into our teaching community.
