Education is a transformational process that starts with the stimuli that the child receives from its environment. The educational environment called the school is the source of these vital stimuli. The biggest challenge for any school is to organise these stimuli such that every learner undergoes this positive transformation. At TATVA, we see the proper organization of stimuli according to the age and stage of development of the child as a matter of utmost importance. “The right thing at the right time” is the catchphrase in our Waldorf-inspired curriculum.
- Immersion into a subject with long learning cycle – In the distinctive Main Lesson Structure that is unique to the Waldorf approach, core subjects are always handled intensively within an interesting framework called the Main Lesson Block (MLB). Unlike traditional classes that are 40-45 minutes long, our MLB’s will consist of a two hour class devoted to the study of any one subject for a period of 4-5 weeks. This framework lends itself to concentrated, in-depth study while recognizing the need to bring content to the class in bite-sized packets giving them the time they need to digest the subject matter. Main lesson time is a lively, interactive time, moving between artistic and intellectual activities that engage each student’s faculties of thinking, feeling and willing.
