Riding the Storms Together : A Gratitude Note to Tatva School
I haves come to believe that Steiner chose us, our family to be a part of this society as he did every child and their families in this space. For my husband and I, it was a chance encounter with Waldorf methodology that made us choose this curriculum. Some of our friends called it blind faith but we knew that this choice was ins=nc=ve like how a thirsty animal knows in which direc=on a water source lies. We watched anxiously as our child entered kindergarten classroom seven (eight) years ago. Least did we know then we were entering a simultaneous journey along with her. These years at Tatva have been a tremendous growth period for all of us. While she crossed different stages of childhood, we learnt how to guide her along, holding her hand, giving her room to lead the way. We are s=ll learning to break the intergenera=onal paVern and be the kind of parents who priori=se the child’s joy and well being above everything else. "We had the right people guide us and a benevolent community for support".
As luck or fate would have it, In 2010, Our search for a Nursery and Day care, for our Elder son, landed us at TATVA, a year after it was founded. After a brief discussion with the School directors, we instantaneously liked the school and its approach. It turned out to be a defining point in the kids’ future. The liking and love for the school has increased ever from then on.... We write this testimonial about our TATVA School, as parents of two children in grade 9 and grade 5. Both our children are in Tatva since playgroup. We put them in a playschool with the hope they shared with us about the future school which is going to give our children an 'Education for life' and we are only more than happy that we are living it true to their words. Education at TATVA is not pure academics; it’s rather a way of life at Tatva. How they infuse life into anything they do is beyond words to explain. We as parents had to also unlearn and relearn the right ways to education and parenting. Learning is not an exercise, learning is not memorizing, learning is not just from textbooks; art, music and activities are not extra-curricular and that is beautifully intertwined with the curriculum. Practically we see our children are not reading from specified textbooks and preparing for exams but they are so knowledgeable. Learning involves all the senses and every child is given an equal opportunity to learn through auditory, visual and kinesthetic methods. This kind of learning and absorbing through whole body has a great impact that is deeply etched and has a profound impact on the child. The holistic and integrated approach which they have developed over the years, applying Waldorf methodology in a IGCSE, Cambridge curriculum is something so unique and wonderful, that you can only experience at TATVA. The way they teach each concept combines Science with day to day applications, real life situations along with Ethical, and Moral values. The approach, is not only deep, interesting and comprehensive, but also instills a thirst for curiosity and excellence lifelong. This not only prepares them for success in their future endeavors, but also puts them on a path, where they can handle life situations, successfully and individually. They develop a beautiful teacher student bonding, and students have freedom to express themselves. They also learn to respect others and the dignity of life. Whether, it is about their New campus, or their assessment system, or the trips organized for children, or the Annual day, etc, etc, etc..... each of them are well thought about, well designed, student centric, and well executed, and has a unique Tatva signature on it. This kind of schooling is something we only dream of and they are really making it happen.
My daughter has been going to TATVA from UKG . The hand work, the form drawing, painting they do right from Grade 1 are really helping her now, when it comes to understanding Geometry and other things. The curriculum is very much child-centric so much that they learn everything in a fun and easy way. All that they have been doing in their elementary level are helping them now. My kid knows what she needs and is very clear in her approach. My daughter has grown artistically very well because of all the pottery, painting and handwork. I like the fact that the curriculum kindles creativity in all aspects, be it English or Arts. The way they take language to kids through interesting songs, stories and activities creates an interest in the language. For our children, school is something they always look forward to and that says it all. We can only say we are waiting to go along their path and see each of the children blossom holistically in their chosen path. A school is essentially for the children and what is a better testimonial, than when they say “I love my school “. It says about the success of the system, for who is better than the children to assess a school? We also would like to wish the entire team, the management and teachers, good luck for taking the extra effort, walking the extra mile to give the best for their children and breathing life back into our education system. We are very sure TATVA is leading the right way.... Best Wishes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Teachers for their support, care and Patience .The learning experience here is beyond the expectations and my son is always confident in doing his activities. The routine they follow has given lot improvement. We are with TATVA since his kindergarten and we are happy Parent, happy child experiencing happy School.
One of my colleagues with a teenage boy at home expressed her frustration over a coffee discussion that “I am fed up with this helicopter parenting !” “Aren't you not doing this?” she asked me. I said ”Never warranted!”. Thank you, TATVA. Dear TATVA - you bring immense fulfilment in our parenting, our important contribution towards the social transformation you are envisioning - to build upcoming generations with so much of "freedom with responsibility" ,"Individuality with equity" and "Confidence with camaraderie".
We pulled our son out of a reputed CBSE school and happy with this decision every single day. The teaching methodology, attention to details, experiment and show and tell method of teaching a concept is exceptional. The importance given to games and physical activity is commendable.
As a parent of a preteen and a teenager who relocated cities, I was a little anxious about how my children would settle at Tatva. The anxiety melted in a week’s time with the embracing arms of their teachers and the loving children at Tatva who helped my children settle well. The very act that the school has taken the needed care to prepare the children for their Himalayan trek shows how they will prepare the children not only to meet their examinations but to also meet life in a wholesome way. Here they also hold the parent Community with great care so parents are connected and educated on how to approach the child. The teachers are part of Readings and are trained on a regular basis to handle the curriculum as well as attend to the developmental needs of the children. I am grateful that my children are here at TATVA and I am sure they will grow up to be human beings needed for the current times. If anyone is looking for a school( special emphasis to middle school and high school) for wholesome development rather than be part of the race that puts young children under unnecessary stress and if you are seeking simple methodology rather than hi-Fi infrastructure, then I highly recommend this is THE SCHOOL for your child.
TATVA is a school where the focus is not only on academics but on the overall development of children. Kids love to go to school with a big smile and are always enthusiastic, with confidence and without any fear of studies. Kudos to the entire team of TATVA for their relentless hardwork and who always stand by their principle 'Education for Life'.
Our girls got admission at TATVA April 2023. They have adjusted and settled into school in a short span of time. Both love going to school and that is a big win on our part as parents and this shows the kind of environment the school is maintaining. Airy classrooms and lots of Arts, handwork, woodwork, music and play is something these children are equally getting besides the formal education. The teachers have developed a personal relationship with each child, making the child comfortable to be themselves while giving their best shot at school. We are happy the children are happy and look forward to travelling with TATVA years to come.
We are fortunate to be part of the Family called TATVA. It’s a place were we feel our kids will not only be groomed by the curriculum but will also grow up as good Human beings. Special thanks to the management and teachers for all the kind of extended support especially whenever needed. A Special mention for the management for connecting during any events with parents as well, which creates more bonding within parents group as well. The other best part is that during any event, the school management ensures that each and every student of the SCHOOL is part of the event - it could be Sports, Cultural events etc., which is not the case in regular schools where the best of the class or school are hand picked and are alone given a chance to perform. Overall we feel that we are a new Family here and for the students… Yes… it’s a place of “EDUCATION FOR LIFE”, no doubt. Thanks TATVA for everything. Looking forward to continue the journey.
Parenting is a journey filled with joy, challenges, and constant learning. As parents, we often focus on the best ways to bring up our children, especially during the crucial pre-teen and adolescent years. Recently, Tatva School organized a two-day session on how to handle this stage of parenting, and it was truly an eye-opener. The session highlighted the importance of raising children in a holistic way. As parents, we all want our children to grow not just academically but in all areas—emotionally, socially, and mentally. I’m sure every parent feels the same, and in this regard, Tatva School is a blessing for us. Their approach goes beyond academics, focusing on the overall well-being of every child. One of the key aspects discussed during the session was understanding how children change as they grow and how our parenting must evolve with their age. The workshop emphasized the importance of age-appropriate parenting, where our communication, understanding, and responses are aligned with the developmental stage of our children. This was an invaluable insight, reminding us that effective parenting isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach; it requires adaptability and empathy as our children move through different phases of life. What stood out during the session was the collaborative approach between parents and teachers. It’s a powerful reminder that when parents and schools work together with the same mindset, raising children becomes a much smoother and more fulfilling process. Tatva School, under the guidance of Bala Sir and Vidya Ma’am, consistently leads by example, bringing in exceptional resource persons to guide us through these parenting milestones. Another key takeaway was the need to reflect on our own belief systems and conditioning. Sometimes, our approaches to parenting are shaped by habits or ideas we have never questioned. These sessions highlighted the importance of self-awareness in parenting, encouraging us to grow alongside our children and adapt to their needs. Tatva School is truly a beacon of hope for the future. Their efforts focus on creating a nurturing environment that shapes resilient, happy children. It is reassuring to know that as parents, we have such incredible support to guide us in this journey. I am deeply grateful to Tatva School and their leadership for organizing such meaningful initiatives. These programs not only support parents but also strengthen the foundation for a brighter future. Let us continue to work together, as parents and educators, to nurture the potential of every child. After all, happy and resilient children today will grow to be the bright and compassionate and responsible beings of tomorrow. Thank you, Tatva School, for being a true partner in this incredible journey. With Gratitude, Dr Maheshwari Sangolli.
